My giraffe neck.

Spring is coming towards us. The birds are singing and the flowers blossom. We blossom as well. It's as if the pollen fills our system and everything seems different. The change is obvious in our clothes, too. More colors, more flowers, less clothes. Our neck also feels the change. With flowery, happy necklaces, our neck becomes longer. Just like a giraffe's neck.

This is a picture I took at the Attica Zoological Park, which I visited last Sunday. Giraffe is one of my favorite animals. And I didn't like the fact that it was kept in a zoo. In fact I don't like zoos. But I did go and left a little bit sad. Anyway, that's a really long neck. She can wear as many necklaces as she likes.

Below, I'll show you some necklaces that are quite springy. For your one and only giraffe neck.

Triple pendant with the evil eye, fatima's hand and the peace sign. All for good luck. Bought from Anna Maria Mazaraki's shop.

A discreet pendant with a white chrysanthemum, a small blue and a purple stone from Anna Maria Mazaraki, as well.

Batucada 'Baroco' Drop Necklace - mocha color, bought from the wonderful ella georgia online shop & blog.

SANDALS B.C.

Sandals are simple footwear composed of a sole that is held onto the foot by straps. Though the ancient Greeks did not invent the style, they did create many types of leather sandals. By 500 B.C.E. the average Greek citizen could tell much about the people that passed in the street by the style of sandals they wore.

The oldest known sandals were discovered in Fort Rock Cave in the U.S. state of Oregon. They indicate an age of at least 10,000 years.

The ancient Greeks created the baxea, a sandal made of willow leaves, twigs, or fibres worn by comic actors and philosophers. The sole of the latter was sometimes made much thicker than usual by the insertion of slices of cork, so as to add to the stature of the wearer.

The ancient Egyptians wore sandals made of palm-leaves and papyrus.

Two-thousand-year-old fossil sandals show evidence of fibers suggesting that the Romans wore their sandals over socks. That is a funny thought :-)

Let's take a look at some of my favorite sandals for this summer 2011, below their history.

Style it my way.

Well my girly girls, I decided to show you some outfits that I created using a fashion site.
I hope you enjoy it and get some ideas on how to wear certain items that you have in your closet. Don't be afraid to mix 'n' match them any way you like. As I said many times before, style is not about money. It's all about attitude. And guts.

Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart & Farrokh Bulsara

No, I'm not into classic music. But I'm into classic clothing. I mostly listen to rock music. And now that I think about it, there are more similarities between those two kinds of music, than differences. The tension, the feeling, the silence at times and of course the clothes. They look like something Mozart and Freddie Mercury would wear. Don't you think?

White "Mozart" shirt from sava. Gray vest from helmi.
